Laser Tag in the Library

“How’s not playing laser tag? Because playing laser tag is AWESOME!” (oh and your welcome for the German subtitles)

This Friday night would you rather be Barney or Ted? . . . The correct answer is Barney.

Have you ever sat in the library and thought to yourself, “hey this would make a ridiculously awesome place to play laser tag in”, cause we certainly have. And we decided to make it happen, that’s why this Friday for the first time ever CAB is putting on LASER TAG IN THE LIBRARY.

Where:  . . . . think about it.

When: 9 PM to 1 AM

Cost: $1 per person per game . . . . ONE MEASLY DOLLAR

We will be running 2 games of 8 vs 8 at a time on the main and 2nd floors. You can come with your own laser tag SWAT team of 8 people or come as a solo silent laser assassin and we will put you with a team. There will be snacks, music, and hanging out in the lobby while your waiting to play.

Ps. THIS IS GONNA BE LEGIT. We’re renting a pretty sweet laser tag system, there will be fog machines and laser lights. We’re goin all out. Its not gonna just be a bunch of people running around with dollar store laser pointers.

So ask yourself, this Friday night would you rather be Barney or Ted?

Late Night Volleyball

images

The volleyball craze will take over AU one more time this year and you don’t want to miss out.  This year’s Late Night Volleyball Tourney will take place this Friday, February 22, starting at 9pm.  It going to be a night full of volleyball, music, and friends.  So get a team together with your friends or just some random people that you just met.  However, make sure to check out these guidelines and follow these rules:

  • Its Double elimination
  • There must be at least 2 players of minority gender on court at all times
  • No more than 2 AUVB players playing at one time on a team
  • AUIM rules apply to all games
  • Each team can have no more than 6 players on the court at a time
  • Teams are allowed to have more than 9 players
  • Captains must meet 15 minutes early (8:45) for a brief captain’s meeting

SignUp forms are due by 4:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 22 in the CAB Office.

One I believe I am forgetting one of the most important parts.  Its Free.  You will not want to miss this.

ATTENTION IM PARTICPANTS

In respect to Xavier “X” Walton we will be taking a week away from IM Sports.  The week 4 games will still be played.  However, they will be moved back a week from when they were originally scheduled.  For example, a game scheduled for Monday, the 18th at 9 PM will be moved to Monday the 25th at  9 PM.  All games stay at the same time and same day but are moved to a week later.  Spread the word so your teammates don’t show up for a game that has been moved.

CAB’s Cash CAB

cashcab

This guy is pretty much a modern day wizard. He makes dreams come true and puts cash in the wallets of unsuspecting taxi riders.

Even Tracy Morgan is amazed by his magical disco cab ceiling lights.

In summary, he gives people cash for knowing really stupid random things, he has an amazing vehicle with awesome lights, and he looks way more intimidating than he should for a quirky game show host.

cashcab3

He makes the world a better place, and CAB is about to follow his example to make AU a better place.

During the week of February 12 – 14, we will be doing our own Cash Cab on the AU shuttle bus. Over those three days, we will be on the bus for a grand total of 4 hours, making dreams come true and handing out cold hard cash (if you’re smart enough to know the right answers).

SKI TRIP!

Skiing ostrich

What two things do you and this ostrich have in common?

1. Neither of you can fly.

2. You can both ski.

If this ostrich went to AU he would definitely be going to CAB’s ski trip, and since the two of you have so much in common you should probably go too.

You might say skiing is for rich people, “cake eaters” if you will (mighty ducks reference). But hold the phone stop the train and get off the bus . . . you can go on CAB’s ski trip for ONLY 30 DOLLARS.

When: Feb 9

Where: Perfect North in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Check out this link for more info: http://perfectnorth.com

Price: $30 for one full day of your choice of skiing, snowboarding, or tubing (or a combo of the three). Food not included but CAB is providing snacks, pop, and water bottles.

***ONLY 32 SPOTS AVAILABLE SO SIGN UP ASAP IN THE CAB OFFICE.***

Christmas at the Zoo

Do you like Christmas? (If you said no . . . well Happy Holidays to you my friend)

Do you like wild animals being held in captivity for our enjoyment?  . . . Cause I sure do!

There is no better way to celebrate the Christmas season than to gather around a fireplace with your loved ones sipping hot coco and eating cookies while exchanging gifts. However, a close runner up is getting a bunch of people from your hall together and going to downtown and Indy and celebrating the season with dolphins, polar bears, tigers, and monkeys.

But for all of you 5th year seniors that stuck around just to go to Christmas at the Zoo one more time, you should know that Christmas at the Zoo isn’t gonna be quite the same as it has been in past years. We aren’t pushing for everyone to go on the exact same day, the day for the event on our calendar is December 8th, but we aren’t really doing anything all that special on that day. “Christmas at the Zoo” is going on at the zoo right now and will be for the rest of the semester.
And Ya’ll already know that it pays to be an AU student so here ya go:
$1.00 off if you donate a new hat scarf or glove.
20% off your ticket if you stop by Donatos (the pizza place in Indy)

SKYZONE

Perhaps the most tubular event that we have is back.

SKYZONE!

If you didn’t go last year don’t make the same mistake twice. Skyzone is an indoor trampoline park. So I don’t know about you but it’s pretty much the only thing I ever wanted out of my childhood.

It’ll be a lot like this (minus the trash cans and poor life decisions) . . .

So whether you are an Olympic gymnast on the tramps . . .

Or you just wanna try your best to look cool in front of a bunch of girls . . .

Maybe you just wanna hang out and watch everyone else bounce . . .

Whatever you decide to do trust me it’s going to be a blast.

It’s going to be November 28th (the Wednesday after Thanksgiving break), we will be bouncing from 8 to 9 but you need to be there by 7:30!

But you can’t just show up to Skyzone all willy-nilly and expect to bounce. We are selling tickets for $3 in the CAB office, but they are going to be sold out quick because of the sheer awesomeness of this event, so you need to buy your tickets ASAP.

So buy tickets as soon as you can, come bounce and be awesome, and try not to face-plant while we’re there.

Here’s some more info on Skyzone:
